Read my interview with Avril Lavigne as she talks about ‘Goodbye Lullaby,’ Abbey Dawn, and more! On her fashion line:

I made a huge change to my tees. It’s not a tween or juniors anymore. It’s more for girls and women now. It’s better quality and will have a higher price point. I have a whole new team, from people I work with to the manufacturer.

American Idol Recap: Groups!

Read my latest American Idol recap.

The contestants were tasked with producing a complete performance package, including choreography. The intangible of getting along with your groupmates didn’t prove as challenging this time out, either. The stakes are higher, so the ‘Idol’ wannabes were forced to hunker down and work.

Adele’s Vouge Cover

Adele is on the cover of this months Vogue magazine.

Put simply: Adele stuns in all of the images in the spread. She declares, “I’m a big personality,” and in her first American Vogue cover, she is larger than life and as gorgeous as any of the models also featured inside the issue.

American Idol Recap: Fainting and Falling

Read my latest recap of American Idol.

Lyrical/verbal amnesia ran rampant throughout many of the groups. The sickness/flu was still hanging over the auditions like a plague. People were fainting and falling left and right, a la cut ‘Idol’ contestant Symone Black (aka the girl who fell off the stage two weeks ago). Doesn’t anyone hydrate anymore?

Adele, ‘Rolling in the Deep’ – 2012 Grammys Video

Read my post about Adele performing ‘Rolling in the Deep’ at the 2012 Grammy Awards.

Adele was a vision of loveliness. Her makeup was soft and her mouth highlighted by pale pink gloss, and her hair was a little more golden than we’re used to. It’s a terrific look for her. She also appeared a little leaner and utterly smashing and classy (as always) in a knee-length black dress with a sheer bodice sprinkled with polka dots.

Whitney Houston Dead at 48

My piece for PopCrush, on the passing of the legendary Whitney Houston.

Houston rose to prominence on the back of major ballads like ‘The Greatest Love of All’ and her rendition of ‘I Will Always Love You’ from ‘The Bodyguard’ soundtrack. She also starred in the film and crossed over to acting successfully.

American Idol Recap: Hollywood Week

Read my latest American Idol Recap.

The contestants have to form groups of four or five members and the caveat is that the groups must be a mix of performers from Day 1 and Day 2. That meant the already-formed alliances formed by people who performed on Day 1 and those who performed on Day 2 were cracked and ripped apart by the rules. It’s like ‘Survivor’ for singers.

The Voice Recap: Week 2

Read my recap of The Voice, from week two.

The coaches are filling up their teams slowly, steadily and surely. Cee Lo Green has expressed a need to create a team full of diversity, while Christina Aguilera want huge voices but is being pickier and more cautious since the talent is better and the stakes are higher this year. Adam Levine is very picky, and often turns his chair around towards the end of performances, while Blake Shelton goes on instinct and as soon as a voice hits him.
