On tonight’s episode of ‘American Idol,’ the remaining seven contestants picked from a pool of songs released in the 21st Century. That’s a lot of choices spanning the last 11 years — giving the contestants a chance to choose more recent hits from their favored genres. The Idols channeled their country and R&B roots, among others, but two standout performances rocked our world.

Check out my post, ‘Top 10 Steven Tyler Quotes,’ on PopCrush.

Don Jamieson Interview

I interviewed comedian Don Jamieson, and we spoke of how he ditched the Emmy’s for a Murderdolls show. Said Jamieson,

“We were like, ‘We gotta get to Dingbatz.’ We didn’t want to miss Wednesday 13. We knew he went on at 11. It was like, ‘F— the Emmys!’ We didn’t even pick them up. We just said, ‘Mail ’em to us!'”

BN: One piece of advice you would like to give all our readers regarding makeup application or trends?
SK: Don’t judge a book by its cover. Color applies differently then it may look in packaging and 9 times out of 10 bright, vibrant shades will deliver a sheer, wearable application. This is especially relevant for my collection sold at Target since you can’t try on the shades.

I spoke with Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath about his love for metal.

American Idol Recap: Elton John Week

Read my recap of Elton John week at American Idol.

The remaining 11 members of this season’s ‘American Idol‘ crew took on the expansive catalog of Elton John this week and as usual, there were mixed results. The episode was a bit sleepy, with most of the contestants performing any of John’s numerous ballads. Regardless of the pacing, big ups to the contestants for having the courage to flip, change and put their own spin on John’s classics.
