Glee Project Recap

Read my newest Glee Project recap.

On tonight’s episode of ‘The Glee Project,’ the contestants needed to demonstrate tenacity and survival skills. They already showed glimpses of both, since tenaciousness and survivor instincts are necessary to pursue a career in show business. It was the end of the road for Abraham, who wasn’t tenacious enough, unfortunately.

J. Rome Wins Duets

Read my post about J. Rome winning Duets.

J. Rome was named the winner of the debut season of ‘Duets.’ It was John Glosson who placed second. Poor Jennifer Nettles! Both of amateurs were in the Top 2, to which she said, “I am dying … They have worked so hard and it is the best and the worst.” Either way, she “won” since both of her boys made it to the top.

Opening Act Recap

Read my recap of tonights episode of Opening Act.

The think tank was looking for an artist to open for country megastar Jason Aldean and they uncovered curly cued brunette Kylie Morgan, 16, who speaks out against bullying and even wrote a song inspired by a teen named Phoebe Prince who committed suicide because she was bullied.

On tonight’s (July 17) episode of ‘The Glee Project,’ the remaining eight contestants were asked to demonstrate theatricality. Nellie didn’t quite cut it, nor had she fully immersed herself in any of the assignments or videos throughout the season, and as a result, she was sent home.

Opening Act Recap

Rock band TwentyForSeven were plucked from obscurity in Michigan to open for Gym Class Heroes in El Paso, Texas on tonight’s (July 16) episode of ‘Opening Act.’ They hoed a long, hard road, thanks to a singer with both pitch and confidence issues. That’s a deadly, big chance-killing combo. Did they overcome those massive problems? Yup.

Dick Page Interview

Read my interview with Dick Page!

BN: We’d love for our readers to feel as though you were there personal makeup artist for one moment. Can you share one of your patented, universal makeup tips for all women?
Pull faces in the mirror! Seriously! Smile when you’re applying blush and lipstick. Tilt your chin up and look down your nose in the mirror to more easily apply liner and eye colour. Also, a tri-fold mirror is a good investment so you can check out your face, and your makeup, from different angles.

Best Dance Songs of 2012 (So Far)

Read my latest feature, ‘Best Dance Songs of 2012 (So Far).’

In this list of the Best Dance Songs of 2012, we are counting the year’s best club bangers thus far. We are at the midpoint of 2012 and there is absolutely no shortage of quality club anthems, dance jams and throw-your-hands up anthems. All of these songs will force you to put your drink down (or toss it back) so you can head for the floor to work yourself up into a sweaty, movin’ and groovin’ lather.

On this week’s (July 10) episode of ‘The Glee Project,’ the remaining contestants were asked to demonstrate their fearlessness, which they all did. Sadly, the charming character known as Charlie was sent home, since Ryan Murphy decided he is a performer and not an actor/singer, which is what ‘Glee‘ needs.

No Doubt ‘Settle Down’ Review

Read my review of No Doubt’s new single, ‘Settle Down.’

The verses are reggae heavy, from the horns to Stefani’s accented delivery. The Jamaican-inspired choruses are more addictive than any drug you can think of. From the sounds of this, you’d be more apt to believe Stefani and co. are from the islands, as opposed to So Cal.

Rihanna on Harper’s Bazaar Cover

Read my post about Rihanna on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar.

RiRi is looking lovely in these shots. We’re used to her overly sexy, half-naked (if not totally naked — see her Esquire U.K. cover for evidence ) mag covers. She cleans up nicely for the image to the left, wearing a simple white dress and chunky gold jewelry, which offer an uh-mazing contrast to her jet black hair.
