Wedding Makeup 10 Commandments

Wedding Makeup 10 CommandmentsRead my lastest post for Beauty News NYC, Wedding Makeup 10 Commandments.

Do not deviate too much from your routine. Don’t wax your brows, chin or upper lip too close to the big day. You could have a reaction or the ingrown and resultant bumps can mar the photos. So do yourself the favor and get your weekly or bi-weekly maintenance a week before the wedding.

Aboard the Death By Stereo Van

I got to hang out with the Death By Stereo guys today, and they showed us their van for a special feature on Noisecreep. Said vocalist/guitarist Efrem Schulz:

“The Adolescents borrowed our van to go to Vegas,” Schulz said. “When I met up with them to get it back, they were like, ‘Dude, what’s up with your van? We found anal beads, a butt plug and hardcore anal porn.’ They had hit the brakes hard and all that shit rolled out from under the seats. They were Dan Palmer’s anal beads! The butt plug was property of Daniel Aaron Palmer!”

News and Noteworthy for March 2009

New & NoteworthyRead my latest post for Beauty News NYC, ‘News & Noteworthy’ for March, 2009.

Brooklyn…it’s not just for hipsters anymore! Thank God New York City perfumer Bond No. 9 has recognized this fact with its first ode – or is that Eau’d – to Brooklyn? Bond No. 9 Brooklyn is as edgy as the 718 location it’s named after. It’s a sassy swirl of grapefruit, cardamom, cypresswood, juniper berries and leather that’ll remind you of the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Who needs to head over the Williamsburg Bridge when you’ve got your own spritz of Brooklyn right here in NYC?

Nicolas Cage Interview

I interviewed Nicolas Cage about his latest movie, ‘Knowing.’ Says Cage,

“I had memories of life with my own son, and the script came to me at the right time. I had the life experience and emotional resources to play John Koestler. Some of the lines came out of direct memories of my times with Weston. I had been looking for a way to express those feelings for a long time, having been a single father.”

Interview with Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio

I spoke with Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio about their upcoming movie, ‘Revolutionary Road.’ Said Winselt, about working with Leonardo,

“He’s a better actor than he was, if that’s possible. I loved playing some of the difficult scenes, knowing the trust we have. There were no boundaries. It was a real gift to do off-camera dialogue for him and to have to stop myself from crying, seeing someone for whom I have so much respect doing things as an actor that I have never seen him do before.”
