Toby Keith Interview

I interviewed Toby Keith talks about his new album, spending time with US troops, and running his own label. When asked about the CMA’s, Keith said,

“Willie Nelson and I had 6-week, #1 single and didn’t win the CMA! In the CMA “duet” category, they didn’t have another #1 song, yet we still lost. It’s the politics!”

Dianne Brill Interview

Read my interview with Dianne Brill that I did for Beauty News NYC.

As the beauty designer for my brand, my perspective is complex and very personal. I design everything you see, from the outer package to the product itself, from the perspective of a woman who applies her products to herself, just as my client does. Women want first class performance, and a more personal feeling of being adored and understood.

T.I. Interview

T.I. interview at ArtistDirectI interviewed rapper T.I. for Artist Direct. We got talking about mixtapes and T.I. had this to say:

“I think people would like to hear more from the artist before they invest themselves and their money into the entire CD. They want to make sure that the artists are worth the $13 or $14 they are spending. The consumers have been misled so many times with someone having a hit single and thinking there’s an entire album that’s just as good and hot. You get shammed that way. The mixtape gives you an idea of what to expect.”

‘Remember the Daze’ Cast Interview

Read the interview I did with the ‘Remember the Daze’ cast.

How did you prepare for the film and get yourself into a 1999 frame of mind? It’s not like 1999 was that long ago, but times —the economy, the government, the culture—have changed radically, so it sometimes seems like forever ago.

Leighton: As far as performance, I didn’t prepare. I think the funniest line in the movie is, “Is Y2K gonna blow up the world?” Is that how we were thinking back then? I wore a purple jumper in the film and that was a real 1999 moment for me. And the French braid with pieces coming down. That is what I did to my hair back then. To be honest, I wasn’t the age that my character is at that time, obviously, so I didn’t pay too much attention. It was like a modern period piece.

Danna Homburger of Expert Electrolysis Inc. & Laser Hair Removal

Beauty News NYCI interviewed Danna Homburger of Expert Electrolysis Inc. & Laser Hair Removal. Said Homburger,

Many of my clients tell me they would have a drink before waxing and do not find it necessary with the laser. There is no ripping or pulling. You do feel a heat sensation but the treatment is so quick, the average Brazilian can take a minimum of five minutes and is so tolerable. The benefit is enormous.

Interview with Make-Up Artist Paula Dorf

I interviewed make-up artist Paula Dorf for Beauty News NYC.

I don’t have to go through a team of people when I invent a product; I don’t have to go through a process. Also, my skin is very sensitive; if I touch it, it gets red. So, I try everything on myself when I make a product, for a month before it goes into production. I’m very fussy. Everything passes through me. I also like the specialty brand and having customer loyalty.
