Nick Voss on X Factor

Read my post about Nick Voss on X Factor.

He sang ‘Trouble’ by Elvis Presley, and while his voice was not the strongest, he was a mobile, solid entertainer who could sing and dance and at the heart of it, this show is about entertainers. He was the first hopeful to excite the judges at the Miami auditions.

Melanie Amaro on X Factor

Read my post about Melanie Amaro on X Factor.

The college freshman, who is all of 18-years-old, was not flashy, nor was she ultra glam. But the girl could sing her butt off, and that’s just what she did. No frills. No tricks. She delivered a showstopping performance and got a standing ovation from the judges’ table. So yes, she’s moving on in the competition for a cool $5 million.

Siameze Floyd on X Factor

Read my post on Siameze Floyd on ‘X Factor.’

With his blown out, fabulous locks that are reminiscent of comedian Kat Williams, his skintight jeans, fitted coat and his small stature, Siameze performed with so much unbridled energy that it was like he down a crate of energy drinks before he took the stage. Actually, he doesn’t need an energy drink. He should just bottle whatever courses through his veins, since it’s limitless and has the same effect.

Glee Project Recap – the “Generosity” Episode

Be sure to read my latest recap for ‘The Glee Project,’ over at Pop Crush.

This week’s “wrench” was the fact that the singers had to play instruments in the video for My Chemical Romance’s ‘Sing.’ Since our dreadlocked pal Samuel is the only one who plays instruments, it would appear that he had a distinct advantage. Not so, as you’ll find out later.

The Glee Project Recap – the ‘Believability” Episode

Read my recap of this weeks ‘Glee Project.’

In order to test their believability, this week’s video was created for ‘The Only Exception’ by Paramore. The singers were required to convey being in love with someone who doesn’t know they even exist and this assignment required them to focus on the acting and the singing, not the choreography.

Glee Project Recap – The “Sexy” Episode

I wrote another recap for ‘The Glee Project.’

The contestants revisited familiar territory for the video, once again performing a Katy Perry song. This time it was ‘Teenage Dream.’ The final six were paired up to perform different and unique scenarios that demonstrated their sexuality. However, the minute you try and force being sexy, it’s usually not sexy at all, and the contestants were told to be aware of that.

Glee Project Recap – the “Tenacity” Episode

Read my recap of this week’s episode of ‘The Glee Project,’ with “tenacity” as the theme.

For the homework assignment, the crew was asked to demonstrate tenacity by performing LaRoux’s ‘Bulletproof.’ Adler made the singers cycle through the song twice, asking them to show him something new that they’ve yet to do. He said they all brought their “A plus” game, but Marissa won.

The Voice Recap: Week 10

Read my latest recap of the Voice.

The ep opened with the coaches performing Queen’s ‘Under Pressure’ together, and their voices gelled. They didn’t try and compete with each other; they saved that action for their proteges. But there was a vibe from the coaches that indicated that they were really enjoying all of the performances and were feeling conflicted because they’ve grown to enjoy and care about the other contestants. Even Cee Lo said that a contestant needn’t be on his team in order for him to be a fan.
