We are just about to open our new location in Greenwich CT. We are very excited and looking forward to integrating our skincare and makeup services into the community. The new location will reflect the era of 50′s chic and encompasses the aesthetic of the Regency period in England, which is defined as having penchant for clean lines and restrained ornament, directly inspired by ancient Greek and Roman architecture, combined with the swagger of the French Empire style.

I’m an avid makeup user, and using something gives you ideas. I wanted to consolidate my makeup and was also tired of throwing away all of my empty plastic makeup cases. I thought to myself, ‘Why don’t I use reusable palettes the way I use reusable bags at Trader Joe’s?’ I saw an opportunity to introduce an innovative way to use and carry makeup products that are both more convenient and good for the environment.

BN: One makeup tip that EVERY woman needs to know?
MD: When and if you use concealer under the eyes, be sure to set it with a bit of translucent powder. The powder will prevent your makeup from creasing and your liner from running down your face.

I interviewed the drop-dead stunning, earth conscious model and makeup entrepreneur Josie Maran. Said Maran,

Because the green movement is reaching so many more people, there has become more of a demand for it, especially when it comes to luxury personal care and cosmetics. There are so few cosmetics lines that are both green and high-end because, as I’ve learned, natural cosmetics that actually perform are difficult to formulate. I believe we’ve struck a balance with the Josie Maran Cosmetics line that people will really appreciate.

The best way to look fabulous with less makeup is to have good skin. If you want a bit of color, use a tinted moisturizer. My favorite is Laura Mercier. Or a good self-tanner, like St. Tropez.
