Indie Bands and Indie Scents

Read my latest post, ‘Indie Bands, Indie Scents: Make Some Noise with Eight Bands and Fragrances.’

Hello Goodbye craft happy, colorful Japanese-style pop. If candy had a sound, this is what it would sound like. If you like feel-good, jumpy music, then your scent has to be just as bold and colorful, like Moschino’s flirty new citrus fresh Funny. This is both joyful music and a fragrance for the young, starry-eyed girl in all of us! Available at Sephora.

Maria B Cosmetics Review

Here’s my review of Maria B Cosmetics.

If you love the outer packaging of products as much as you heart the colors and formulations inside those pretty lil’ tubes, then you’ll find Maria B Cosmetics to-die-for! The line, created by make up artist Mina Trujillo, is packaged in chic, edgy containers and tagged by the creator as “Face Couture.”

Danna Homburger of Expert Electrolysis Inc. & Laser Hair Removal

Beauty News NYCI interviewed Danna Homburger of Expert Electrolysis Inc. & Laser Hair Removal. Said Homburger,

Many of my clients tell me they would have a drink before waxing and do not find it necessary with the laser. There is no ripping or pulling. You do feel a heat sensation but the treatment is so quick, the average Brazilian can take a minimum of five minutes and is so tolerable. The benefit is enormous.

Interview with Make-Up Artist Paula Dorf

I interviewed make-up artist Paula Dorf for Beauty News NYC.

I don’t have to go through a team of people when I invent a product; I don’t have to go through a process. Also, my skin is very sensitive; if I touch it, it gets red. So, I try everything on myself when I make a product, for a month before it goes into production. I’m very fussy. Everything passes through me. I also like the specialty brand and having customer loyalty.

The Best in Purple Lip Products

Here’s a new post on ‘The Best In Purple Lip Products.’

Dreamy, soft purples get plenty of real estate from Chanel. The Summer Plum Glossimer is a pinky plum infused with shimmer. Lilac Sky Crème Lipstick is a mauvey lavender, and the silky Surprise from the company’s Luminous Satin lipstick line, glides on like a balm, and coats lips in a kissable, feminine, lilac sheen.

Music Inspired Scents for Christmas

Check out my post, ‘Hitting the High Notes this Season: (Rock Around the Christmas Tree with These Music-inspired Scents).’

Music inspires us on many levels, and the fashion and beauty worlds are no exception. Smoky eyes scream rock ‘n roll, and any hot make up look is soon copied once a famous pop star is seen sporting it.

Fal 2005 Celeb Scents

Read my feature, Fall 2005 Celeb Scents, And Why They’re So Popular.

These days, it seems like every celebrity and his or her stylist has their own scent, bottled and mass marketed at your local Saks, Neimans, Macys, or Nordstrom. Multimedia diva Jennifer Lopez is on her fourth scent. Songstresses Beyonce, Shania Twain and Celine Dion have their own fragrances, and the list goes on.
