American Idol Recap: Schyler and Colton Dixon

Read my latest recap of American Idol.

Redhead Schyler Dixon and her hipster mohawk-sporting brother Colton auditioned for ‘American Idol‘ last season but didn’t get very far. The judges remembered the sibling combo. Only this time, Schyler came to her audition solo, letting the judges know that her brother was sitting this year out to let her do her thing. What a supportive sib, right?

Lady Gaga on the cover of L’Uomo Vogue

Lady Gaga graces the cover of the January 2012 issue of L’Uomo Vogue.

It’s the Italian version of the fashion bible and since Gaga is a proud Italian, no doubt this cover is extra special for her and ranks at the top of her favorite covers she’s appeared on. We know, there are many.

Beyonce on the Cover of Downtown Magazine

The cover of Downtown Magazine is graced by Beyonce.

The black and white cover, which hones in on Bey from the neck up, focuses on her big, expressive eyes and glossy lips. Couldn’t you just get lost in that stare? Some people are so genetically blessed and she will pass all those uh-mazing genes on to Babyonce.

Beyonce Glamour Magazine Cover

Beyonce graces the cover of the French Edition of Glamour magazine.

What’s so classy about this image, where Bey rocks beachy waves that tumble for days, is how she looks super sexy while remaining mostly covered up. Yes, that hemline length (or lack of it) is reserved for bold, daring women and, well, that’s certainly a way to describe the ‘Best Thing I Never Had’ singer.

X Factor Recap: Melanie Amaro Wins

Read my latest X Factor recap!

Amaro was so overwhelmed by the fact that she won a $5 million recording contract and would be starring in a Pepsi commercial that all she could say when asked how she felt was, “Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.” She could not get a word out since she was overtaken by emotion. We can’t blame her for being verbally flustered, as her whole life just changed in an instant.

X Factor Recap: Final Three

Read my lastest X Factor Recap.

The final trio also performed Michael Jackson‘s ‘They Don’t Care About Us’ with the robots from the Cirque du Soleil show featuring the King of Pop’s music. They were stomping, well-choreographed robots with dollar signs on their chests. The trio sang at the top of the stage about a minute in. It was cool and, well, different.

Adele on Billboard Magazine Cover

Adele is on the cover of the latest Billboard Magazine.

In the accompanying cover feature, members of Adele’s team and her handlers speak about the talent they are blessed to work with. “Adele knows how good she is. You can’t underestimate that. Artists that tend to work long term, most of them tend to have a clear-cut idea of who they are,” said Rob Stringer, chairman/CEO of Columbia Records, her label in the U.S.

Beyonce on the Cover of Jones Magazine

I wrote a post about Beyonce’s latest cover, the winter issue of Jones.

Beyonce was selected for this honor thanks to her contributions to music, film and fashion. Bey’s a full-service diva, that’s for sure. There isn’t an arm of culture that she isn’t impacting.

Lady Gaga, ‘Marry the Night’ Video Review

I review the latest from Lady Gaga, her ‘Marry The Night’ video.

It is a provocative video that requires five or six viewings to absorb it all. It’s dense with activity and Gaga-esque through and through.
