On tonight’s (March 7) episode of ‘American Idol,’ the Top 13 were asked to perform songs by Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder. The girls performed Houston’s hits, while the boys tackled Wonder’s work.
We admit we were skeptical at first, because the judges consistently warn the hopefuls about attempting the three divas (Whitney, Mariah, Celine) since they are, as J. Lo said, “beasts.”

So, Vince Neil is opening a strip club.
The topless nightclub is slated to open in Sin City, which Neil calls home, in approximately two weeks, according to the Las Vegas Sun. This fine establishment will be situated in Déjà Vu’s former digs about a mile from the Strip.

They paired singers of the same ilk together, with Blake Shelton staging a country showdown and a rock ‘n’ roll battle. Christina Aguilera also had two teams go tonight, having her powerhouses and her gospel guys step up to the mic. Adam Levine had a pair of dudes go at it, while Cee Lo pitted his big-voiced females against one another.

I reviewed the new Marilyn Manson song, ‘No Reflection.’
While the song may be called ‘No Reflection,’ if the man born Brian Warner was looking in a mirror, he’d definitely see his heavily made up mug, with creepy, color contacts and red lipstick smeared all over his face.

Arcade Fire’s ‘Abraham’s Daughter’ appears on the soundtrack for the Hunger Games, and I reviewed the song over at Diffuser.
There’s a militaristic beat woven throughout and an overall military cadence set against the ominous instrumentation, but it’s tempered by the ethereal, female vocals of Régine Chassagne. She’s almost like a mirage, making you feel like things will be okay, but then the nervous instrumentation won’t allow itself to be kept at bay.

The blind auditions of ‘The Voice‘ wound down tonight (Feb. 27) and the coaches continued the trend of being a bit more selective and consorting with each before they turn around those big red space chairs. It’s as though they are influencing each other’s choices much more this season.

Katy Perry is on the cover of the latest issue of Interview Magazine.
Strip away the blue bob and the pink makeup and Perry is a natural and classic stunner. The images are black and white and Perry is somewhat styled like a silent film actress or a screen goddess who is able to convey a lot, via a look as opposed to words.

All the girls performed this evening, with only half able to go through to next week. It was another mixed bag of talent, with country gals and torch singers sharing the stage. We also tried to keep track of how many times Randy Jackson said “Yo” but it was futile. It’s like every other word.
