Vinnie Paul Interview

I interviewed Vinnie Paul for Loudwire, and we spoke about the new album. Said Paul,

We all come from traditional metal bands and backgrounds, so it was a great breath of fresh air to play in a band that was rock ‘n’ roll, blues and Southern rock. We got that out of our system and got really focused on going back to our metal roots. It’s heavy, focused, groove-oriented and I’m excited about it.

Dimebag Darrell Abbott’s Birthday Remembered

Here’s my piece, ‘Dimebag Darrell Abbott’s Birthday Remembered,’ on what would have been his 44th birthday. I spoke with Liquid Metal’s Jose Mangin for the story,

“His credo and teachings live on and now I see his fans and his friends saying to themselves, ‘What would Dime do?’ This is how I live my life and after all these years of interviews with bands, they are doing the same thing. His positive influence in and outside of music is something that makes Darrell larger than any of his sick ass riffs could ever be.”
